Following a flash of inspiration while shooting in Prague in 2006 I delve into my archive and revisit an image captured there one dark damp November morning.

Follow us step by step as we set out to re-create a moment in history in occupied Prague in 1944.

We start off Part 1 of this 2 Part video by explaining the story & inspiration behind the background image then swiftly taken into the studio. Here we show the lighting setup and what we are looking to achieve from it.
We chat about the challenges of matching the lighting on his model to that of the location background image and how tethered capture can aid us in getting the best image.

In Part 2 we go into a Post Shoot chat where we view the selection of other background images captured in Prague as well as those captured in the studio of the model.We discuss the changes made to the lighting and illustrates why we made them.
The lighting set is explained with the help of a diagram of together with the camera settings used.

From here we take you through the post production techniques used to mask our model whilst keeping all the super fine details that keep the compositing looking realistic.
